Christmas Costume Party

What do you get when you mix: a costume party, Christmas tradition, and dodgeball? You get an amazingly awesome Christmas Costume Party at the Barn! This past week we told the students to show up at the Barn dressed up as their favorite Christmas Character, and the results were hilarious! We had students dressed up as: The Bellsnickel (the PA-Dutch version of St. Nick), Marley, Scrooge, Christmas Lights, The Hobo from Polar Express and The Heat Miser. (I myself went as Yukon Cornelius).

After arrival mayhem ensued. Upstairs, in the freeze cold, we began to play a game of dodge ball in costume (I've embedded a video below of the craziness!). We went till someone reached ten wins and then moved the chaos downstairs. There Deb explained our next plan of action: A Cookie Decorating Contest. We gave all the students a Christmas tree shaped cookie and all the icing, sprinkles and decorating necessities to try to win an itunes gifts card for the best decorated Cookie!

There were so many awesome entries, including my Christmas tree monster and a three cookie Reindeer, but the winner was Karli with her awesome realistic cookie tree! Then we had all the kids gather up front and we began to judge them for the best costumes. First place went to a girl Hannah who dressed up as the hobo from the Polar Express, second place went to Sam who dressed up as the Bellsnickel and third went to my brother Caleb who dressed up as Tiny Tim.

It was such a fun night... so make sure you watch the video below and see some of the awesome action!
