Mulch, Stain, Snakes and Spiders...

Mulch, stain, snakes and spiders... oh and don't forget pizza! Yesterday, consisted on all these crazy awesome things combined.

Mulch and Stain

Faith Christian School asked if they could come by the Barn for their 7th grade (I believe) field trip. So around 9:15am 16 students showed up at the Barn and helped us out a bit to start. They helped us do some staining in the Barn and around the property and helped us put lots and lots of mulch in the gardens up and down the property. There were a few spills here and there, but it was awesome to see the students having fun serving us, and us being able to help serve alongside of them!

Pizza

Joyelle and I ran to get the loads of pizza and so we took it in the Barn for the students to devour (like they were on some kind of war path). 5 pies later it was time to burn all those calories. (Some of the leftovers were then devoured by me and the guys this morning for breakfast ha).

Snakes and Spiders

Much of the rest of the time consisted of fun and games... of goofing off, shooting pool, playing basketball (boys vs. girls... girls got whooped... sorry girls), and most importantly hunting for any critter that was seen at the Barn. There was a kid, Alec, who had a jar in which he would put spiders (amazed that they ate each other), crickets and water beetles. He would also go around finding random snakes (such as garter and black - which are safe snakes don't worry). Also, the guys did a lot of fishing while the girls feel off the log into the creek. ha...

It was such an awesome day full of exploration, work and fun! I figured I'd just let you know about it... sorry you missed out...
